‘Pre-Unique 2019’ launched by twin actors at St.Aloysius College

Mangaluru, Nov 09 2019:   Addressing the gathering during the inauguration of ‘Pre-Unique 2019’, a two-day fest of intellect and culture celebrating uniqueness and unity, at the Pretorium of St Aloysius PU College on November 8, Friday; Sandalwood actors Adhvithi Shetty and Ashvithi Shetty stressed the  onus is on each student to identify their strengths and uniqueness in the pursuit and aims of life.  Students from over 40 different institutions were participating in the college fest.

Adhvithi Shetty and Ashvithi Shetty, alumni of St Aloysius PU College, set a focus for the students to follow their passion and work dedicatedly  towards realising their dreams for the future.  They stressed students must maintain a balance between academics and extracurricular activities. They said that college events were a platform to discover their potential.  The twin actors  Adhvithi Shetty   and Ashvithi Shetty inaugurated Pre-Unique by spinning the ‘Wheel of Colour’  which represents the colours of life. 

St Aloysius College Principal Fr Dr Praveen Martis quoted Dr Abdul Kalam and highlighted the importance of dreams, thoughts and actions in realising their goals. Fr Martis also epitomised the ethos and three C’s (competence, creativity and commitment) of Jesuit education.

St Aloysius P U College Principal Fr Clifford Sequeira praised the efforts of the students and the staff for meticulously organising the event. He said St Aloysius PU College has always provided equal opportunity for academic excellence and artistic creativity.

Pre-Unique offers ample opportunities for students to interact with the student-participants of other institutions, thus helping them to learn and grow, he said.

The inauguration programme was followed by events and competitions. Pre-Unique’s biggest draw proved to be ‘Nirmaan–a science model making competition cum exhibition– and ‘Carnival’ with games and food stalls.

Finance officer Fr Vinod Paul, vice principals Muralikrishna GM, Charlotte D’Souza and staff convener Mr Denzil Machado were also present. The enrgy of a huge gathering of students was palpable at this unique event.
