’Kanaka’ WhatsApp Group Admin arrested for fleecing public

Mangaluru, May 13, 2020:  CCB Police have arrested a person from Kundadka in Puttila village of Belthangady taluk on the charges of fleecing public in the name of influential people.  The arrested person Abdul Rasheed Kundadka was the admin of a WhatsApp group named Kanaka.  Police have said he used to misuse the names of politicians and media persons to fleece public.

 

A person had lodged a complaint at Mangaluru East Police Station  stating that the accused    had placed a demand for Rs 20 lakhs and had   secured Rs 4 lakhs on the promise that he would  ensure the removal of the name of a person from the list of accused in the Muttasim Tasleem murder case. Tasleem was a main accused in a jewellery store theft case.

It is learnt, the accused Abdul Rasheed had included several politicians and  media men in his WhatsApp group. He is also having  cases against him in Punjalakatte station and the police there had even opened a rowdy sheet against him.
