Prof. Narendra Nayak recently visited a medical shop in Car Street, Mangaluru and was shocked to see the shop owner dealing with the customers without a facemask  and not cared to follow any Covid-19 protocol.  Here is the episode in his own words:

“This is to bring to your attention that I had visited the Bharatiya Jana Aushadi Kendra, Temple square, car street, Mangalore at around 3.30 pm on the 14th of this month and found both the people in shop without facemasks and not following the Covid-10 prevention protocol. When I asked them, they said as long as I am wearing the mask it is OK and they need not wear it.

If the chemists and druggists shops cannot follow the proper rules what is the point in advising people to wear masks, follow personal distancing and use hand sanitizer? None of them were being followed there. I do not know why they don’t care to follow the prevention protocol. Why authorities don’t take any action against them for not following the rules to prevent the spread of covid19 that too in a Govt.enterprise?”

Despite the government advocating preventive measures to contain the pandemic, many people seem careless about it. People are not observing even the basic protocols to prevent the disease. They are moving in the streets without wearing a face mask. India crossed 50 lakh cases and nearly 90,000 dead due to Corona Virus.  India is now recording highest number of Covid-19 deaths daily.
