Udupi, Dec 28, 2014: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to how he can achieve his development agenda in the absence of communal harmony and peace.
Speaking to reporters here he also wanted to know as to why the Prime Minister did not attend the Rajya Sabha which was discussing the re-conversion. “Will not peace be disrupted through the Ghar Wapsi programme?” “Why did not the Prime Minister respond when a church was desecrated in Delhi?” Poojary questioned.
On the proposal to construct a memorial for Godse, Poojary said even a killer is glorified. “The Sangh Parivar needs to clarify on this issue.”
Asked whether conversion needs to be banned, Poojary said a person can opt for conversion voluntarily but there should be no force. The Prime Minister must warn of action against forcible conversion, he further added.
Congress leaders Bhasker Rao Kidiyoor, Harish Kini, Narasimhamurthi and others were present.
