“Bayya Mallige” play’s 50th year celebration on May 15

Mangaluru May 10, 2016:  Dr P Sanjeeva Dandekeri’s most remarkable record breaking Tulu Drama Bayya Mallige’s 50th year celebration will be held on May 15 at Town Hall in  Mangaluru.

 

Speaking to reporters at Hotel Foodland on May 10, Tuesday, Producer Sanjeeva Dandekeri said that, Bayya Mallige’s first stage performance was in the year 1966 and it has been staged a record 28,000 times  both in India and abroad.

“Bayya Mallige” film was also released in the year 1974 under the banner Jayaram Films at Ramakanthi and Jyothi theatre. There was   huge fan following for the movie, he added.

The 50th year celebration of Bayya Mallige  will be inaugurated by President of Buntara Maatru Sangha Ajith Kumar Rai and presided by former Minister Krishna J Palemaar.The DVD will be released by Mayor Harinath while tele film will be released by Dr M Mohan Alva. Kinnari Serial Actors Jyothi Rai and Baby Disha Ram will grace the occasion.

Committee Member VG Pal, G Krishna Kotian and Jagannatha Shetty Bala were present.
