Vittal, Dec 7, 2014: An enthusiastic procession gave a bright colourful start to the State-level Yuvajana Mela at Vittal on December 6, Saturday. Fans lined both sides of the road for more than a kilometre, watching the procession in rapt wonder. The admiration for the cultural heritage of the land was visible, appreciation for the artistes and troupes was evident.
Puttur MLA Shakunthala Shetty inaugurated the procession, while District-in-Charge Minsiter B Ramanath Rai, Youth Service, Sports Minister K Abhaychandra Jain and others took leading parts. The top folk art of coastal districts "Huli Vesha" and "Simhada Vesha" captured the imagination of the onlookers. Kombu of Vittal team, Bannada Kode of Kerala, Chende of Kerala, Kalasha by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramabhivrudhi Yojane women, band by Alike Sathya Sai Education Institution, Police band, Huli Vesha of Bantwala Sri Ramanjaneya Balaga, Rovers and Rangers team of Vittal Government First Grade College, Karaga Kolata team of Bantwala, Kangeelu dance troupe of Janapada Kala Seva Samsthe, Karaga dance, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, NC C cadets of Puttur Vivekananda College, cultural team of Yuvajana Mela, Dollu Kunita troupe of Chikkamagaluru, Nasik band team of Vittal and Bolar attracted the onlookers.
The skill of Beripadau Mookambika Krupa Mukhya Prana Vyayaama Shale members with fireball was a specail feature.
Kerala Chende team moved people to shake and jump near private bus stand and at the junction. As a precautionary measure, traffic movement was stopped in all four roads which meet at junction.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Mela Committee Honourory President B Ramanath Rai, Youth Service Minister K Abhaychandra Jain, Working President M S Mohammed, Chief Convenor V N Sudarshan Padiar, Co-ordination Committee President Madhav SMave, Procession Committee President Sudarshan Jain were present amidst a large gathering of admirers.
