“Country should be made free from drug menace,” the activists urged. The activists also regretted that actors from film industry and sons of politicians were involved in the sale and consumption of drugs. A stringent act is need-of-the-hour to control the drug menace, the activists urged. Activists also recollected launching a country-wide campaign, “Nasha-Mukth Bharat” and had created awareness about drug abuse among students in schools and colleges in 2014.

“Yet sale and purchase of drugs in schools and colleges through code language continues unchecked. Parents need to be vigilant and police should step up their investigations against the thriving drug syndicate. ABVP state joint secretary Sandesh Rai, Shreyas Shetty, Athmika, among others, were present in the protest. The district unit of Campus Front demanded an end to the thriving drug racket and strict action against all those involved in it. District Campus Front president Hassan Siraj, district treasurer Sharfuddin Bajpe, among others, also submitted a memorandum to DKdeputy commissioner, M’luru commissioner of police and DK SP.
