Youth robbed of Rs 6 lakh cash in daylight robbery; locals trap 4 accused

Kasargod, Sep 22, 2015: In a shocking broad daylight robbery, a bike rider was robbed off a cash of Rs 6 lakh by four men   at Edaneeru in Vidyanagar on September 21, Monday. Luckily all the four were trapped by the locals who later handed them over to the police. Two cars have also been seized from the robbers.

 

The incident occurred at around  2.30 pm when  a youth  who  was taking along a cash of Rs 6 lakhs towards the expenses of his sister’s wedding was intercepted by four men who came by a Swift car. Though the assailants had managed to flee with the cash, their car tyres burst as it reached Karimabla near Badiadka resulting in the  mishap. Soon they were joined by two others who arrived by a Swift to repair the car.

When locals  suspected something fishy they began to enquire them and when the latter tried to flee four of them were caught hold of by locals.

Further investigations are underway by Vidyanagar police.
