Youth Congress leaders detained for bid to protest against Farm Bills without permission

Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2020:   Several Youth Congress leaders including District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Corporators Naveen D’Souza,  Praveen Chandra Alva, A C Vinayraj and others were detained after   they and several others   tried to stage a protest  without prior permission, against the controversial Farm Bills near the Clock Tower on September 25, Friday evening.

The Youth Congress activists had planned to take a rally from the Clock Tower to DC office. However as they had no permission, the same was prevented by the police who eventually detained many protestors.

The protestors shouted slogans against the Union Government. Speaking on the occasion, Mithun Rai said the government through the Farm Bills was trying to snatch the rights of farmers.
