Youth Congress holds Massive Rally against Immoral Rowdism

Mangaluru: September 29, 2015: Strongly condemning against the immoral rowdism that made national headlines, the youth congress led a massive rally here in Mangaluru on Tuesday September 29.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The rally was kicked off by District-incharge minister Ramanath Rai in the presence of Prominent Congress leaders MLC Ivan D’souza, Mangaluru North MLA Mohideen Bawa, Youth Congress district president Shashidhar Hegde, Suresh Ballal.

The rally started from Lal bagh through PVS junction, Balmatta and culminated at Kankanady ground

Speaking at the gathering, Fr Richard Coelho, said peace and harmony are the most important aspects for development to be realized in the community. It is important to us all. Regardless of our ethnicity, religion or political persuasion, our city must remain united and peaceful.

Vivekananda Swamiji from Sri Hosmaru Kshetra said that the communal forces indulge in acts of goondaism and wants to divide the district in the name of religion and disrupt the peace and harmony among people.

MLC Ivan D’souza censured the coward acts by the immoral rowdies. He said that ’ earlier the rally used to be organized for raising funds and social causes, but it is shame that today we are forced to hold rally and protest against communal violence.  He said peace can only prevail if we learn to make friends, live together. He said the people will never forgive the immoral rowdies.

Mayor Jacinta Alfred, Purushotham Chitrapur, former Mayor Shashidar Hegde and others were present.
