Youth Cong takes up cudgels against BJP govt; organizes vehicle rally

Mangalore, Jan15, 2013: The District Youth Congress has taken up cudgels against the BJP government of the state and has demanded that the government which has failed to live upto the expectations of the people, should step down. On January 15, Tuesday, a vehicle rally was also organised  from Urva grounds to Kannur in support of the demand. Thousands of Congress men took part in the rally with their vehicles.

Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojari, who inaugurated the 17 km long rally,  said the BJP government which has ruled the state for nearly four and a half years, has   achieved nothing, but has only contributed misrule. He said the state would be ruined, if the BJP  continues in power. Commending the Youth Congress for organizing the rally to sensitize the society on the corrupt rule of the BJP government, he also stated that the Congress was the most disciplined party.

Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, who also spoke said the BJP government had failed to live upto the expectations of the people and  was trying to divide the society on communal lines. He said the rally has been organised to caution the BJP government and exuded confidence that the people of the state would support the Congress in the ensuing elections.

Mayor Gulzar Banu, Rajya Sabha Member  Oscar Fernandes, Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, Suresh Ballal,  Kallige Taranath Shetty, Moidin Bava, Mohammad Masood, Tejaswi Raj, Harikrishna Bantwal, Vijaykumar Shetty, Vinaykumar Sorake and others took part.
