Young housewife found hanging; family say it’s a ’murder’

Karkala, feb 20, 2016 : A young housewife   has been found  hanging from the ceiling of her husband’s house  at  Bailoor on February 20,  Saturday morning.  If the woman’s in-laws claim this to be a case of suicide, her family members allege that she was killed by her in-laws.

The deceased woman is Rubina (27), wife of Asif Abdulla who is employed in Dubai. The couple has a two and a half year old son.

Sources said Rubina was quite normal on Friday night and had even spoken to a relative over phone at 9 pm. However at around 10.30 pm her brother-in-law telephoned her parental home to  reveal that she was found hanging.

Her  family members and brothers who rushed to the spot, reportedly saw Rubina’s body hanging from the ceiling  with her fists open and the feet touching the floor. They have thus raised suspicion over the cause of the death. It is said though the door of the room in which she was found dead was fragile, it seemed as if too much force had applied on it though it would have been easily broken.

 

Rubina’s uncle who was also present said there was no reason for her to end life.

However, sources said Rubina used to complain at times to her family members that she  was being harassed by her sister-in-law Haseena Banu and mother-in-law Beefathima. It is learnt Haseena was a divorcee and stayed at her parental home with her child., Sources also said both Rubina and Haseena used to often quarrel often.

The body of Rubina  has been shifted to hospital for  a post mortem. Her husband Asif has arrived from Dubai but has refused to say anything.

Karkala Town Police are investigating the case.
