Yettinahole activist moves Supreme Court against irregularities in govt departments

Belthangady, Oct 6,2017: Noted environmentalist  K N Somashekhar who is also in the lead in the fight against the controversial Yettinahole Project has moved the Supreme Court alleging irregularities to the tune of Rs 2000 crores in various departments of the state government. Renowned advocate Prashant Bhushan will be the legal counsel for Somashekhar.

The Supreme Court has accepted the case for hearing and has already sent a notice to the state government in this regard.

After RTI details revealed that there were widespread irregularities in the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture,  Somasehakher had moved the High Court. Though the case was cancelled, an undeterred Somashekhar has now knocked the doors of the Supreme Court.

Somashekhar has demanded CBI probe into the irregularities He has also alleged that misappropriation to the tune of at least Rs 10 crores take place annually even in Dakshina Kannada.
