Yeddyurappa has murdered democracy, claimed Poojary

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Oct 11: B. Janardhan Poojary, former central minister said that Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa is corrupt and incompetent and that he has killed democracy by flouting constitution of India. He was addressing reporters at a press conference held at Press Club on Oct 11, Monday.

Further flaying the CM, he declared that constitution of india has been violated today and that the CM is responsible for all the calamity. The Speaker, K. G. Bopaiah has become a puppet of the Chief minister and BJP, he alleged. The CM should have resigned when he knew that he cannot get majority vote in the no confidence motion.  He added that the people of Karnataka will not become homeless if the CM steps down.

Labeling the trust vote motion won by CM B. S. Yeddyurappa as improper and illegal, he said that the speaker has disqualified 16 dissident MLAs before holding a vote to prove the strength of the BJP government.

Referring to the speaker’s move as “cowardly,” Poojary said that the CM, who was sure that he will not win by majority, got a majority because of the speaker’s manipulative procedure. He said that the manner in which the Yeddyurappa government in Karnataka won the trust vote was ’murder of democracy and the Constitution of India,

A minority government was converted to majority through collusive, manipulative act perpetrated by the speaker.  If the BJP was confident about numbers, a proper Confident Motion in the assembly should have been done. Referring to disqualification of the Independent MLAs, he said: "No political party has jurisdiction over Independent MLAs."
The BJP, which is celebrating its Vijayotsava is actually celebrating the funeral of the people of Karnataka, he lamented.

Suresh Ballal, Harikrishna Bantwal, and Arun Coelho were present.
