Mangaluru, May 21, 2015: Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has accused the state government of completely neglecting rural development.
Speaking to reporters at the Mangaluru International Airport where he arrived on May 20, Wednesday, Yeddyurappa said the people of the state were disillusioned with the Congress government for completely sidelining the welfare programmes initiated by the erstwhile BJP rule. He also exuded confidence that the BJP supported candidates will win in the upcoming gram Panchayat elections.
Yeddyurappa further accused the Siddaramaiah government of totally neglecting the welfare of the SC/ST community and added out of the Rs 15,834 crores allotted for the welfare of SC/STs only Rs 10,979 has been utilized.
He also challenged the Congress leaders of making public any scams that might have been reported during the Modi tenure.
Pratap Simha Nayak, DK District BJP President, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, Udupi district President of the BJP, N Yogish Bhat, former MLA and others were present.
