Yeddyurappa Invited Divine Wrath, Say Lord Manjunatha Devotees

Mtoday news/ IndiaTV

Bangalore, July 29:  Dharmastala Lord Manjunatha Devotees believe that it was a coincidence that the Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa after inviting  Opposition leader H D Kumaraswamy to a challenge before Lord Manjunatha and then evading it, invited divine wrath within a month and was forced to resign.

Devotees of Lord Manjunatha describe it as God’s wrath. Exactly a month after the ‘Truth Test’ at Dharmasthala which never happened,  Yeddyurappa has lost his post.

Devotees say, that the fall of Yeddyurappa, may be the result of his challenge to Kumaraswamy to come to Dharmasthala and prove the charges against him, and his later retraction.

The ‘Truth Test’ had attracted the criticism of devotees of the temple and religious heads, and finally both leaders abandoned the exercise and instead limited themselves to offering puja at the temple on June 27.

Exactly a month after the visit to temple, Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy, have  both been indicted in Lokayukta report with the CM forced to resign too.

There is a strong belief among devotees that people should not take an oath in the name of Lord Manjunatha lightly.

If a person offers to take an oath and later retracts, it could lead to ‘Vak Dosha.’

An astrologer of Udupi had warned that the Trust Test might cause ‘Vak Dosha’ to at least one of them.

“Nobody should take the name of the Lord lightly and if they do, it could mean trouble for them. He may become CM again, but wrongdoers are likely to face problems,” says a person closely associated with the functioning of the Dharmasthala temple.

An adamant  Yeddyurappa, who has been indicted by the Lokayukta, took the decision to resign only after Siddaganga Math Seer Sri Shivakumar Swamiji, advised him to do so.

According to sources, Sri Shivakumar Swamiji advised Yeddyurappa that it would be better to quit before the BJP central leadership was forced to sack him.

The Swamiji’s message was convened to the CM by minister for housing V. Somanna, who visited the Math at around 10.30 am on Tuesday.

Somanna was huddled in a discussion with the Swamiji for about half an hour. He refused to divulge details of the meeting with the seer, saying that as a devotee, he visited the Math regularly and took the blessings of the seer.

On whether he had come to Tumkur to get a feedback from the Swamiji on the CM’s political future, Somanna said, “Please don’t give a political angle to my visit. I have come here to get blessed by the seer and nothing else”.

The minister, whose name also figures in the Lokayukta’s report, denied that his sons were involved in illegal mining.

According to him, Matha Mining Company was shut down in 2009, and so there was no question of his sons being involved in illegal mining in Tumkur.

Interestingly, the department of mines and geology has reportedly confirmed that Somanna’s sons, Arun Somanna and Naveen Somanna, are involved in illegal mining in Gubbi.

Earlier, the Central Empowered Committee of the Supreme Court, had visited Tumkur to conduct a survey on illegal mining in the area.
