Speaking at a press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl today, T. V. Mohandas Pai, the chairman of the Manipal Universal Learning, said that the programme aims to enhance the employment potential of Konkani youth.

The World Konkani Centre aims to use this programme to train students who are just about to graduate and equip them with useful skills such as leadership, communication, and other soft skills in a bid to make them more employable in a corporate atmosphere.

He also said that the centre has designed a mentorship programme for students who have received its scholarship according to their requirements. Professional people from the community will be invited to become mentors for these youth and counsel them on educational, personal, and career-related issues till they become graduates.

Grace Pinto, the MD of Ryan International Group of Institutions; B. R. Bhat, the general manager of Corporation Bank; and many others were present during the press conference.
