Woman pillion rider on way to funeral dies after falling off vehicle

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2016: Hemavathi, a 47-year-old woman, riding  pillion on her husband’s scooter, died after both fell off their vehicle at Nooyi near Gurupura on Feb 14,  Sunday afternoon.

According to Bajpe police, Hemavathi and her husband Purandra Achar (57) from Bandaribettu in Bantwal were on their way to Gurupura to attend a death ceremony of their relative Bhagya who died in a road accident on February 2.

The police said that Purandra Achar lost control over the vehicle at a turn at Nooyi and  both fell off the scooter.

The two were taken to a private hospital nearby. Hemavathi, who suffered a head injury, died before reaching the hospital.

The woman are one’s who are pillion riders and oppose to wear the helmets. Helmets are not for fashion but for our safety. Better learn from this accident . May you eternal soul Rest in Peace

How sad ? This incident makes us feel the importance of wearing Helmets for pillion riders . If the woman had worn the helmet she might have been saved from the danger that cost her life.
