Mangaluru, Sep 16, 2020: A woman hailing from Udupi who was working as a housemaid in Kuwait has been taken into custody by the on Monday.
It has been gathered that the woman who was all set to return to her homeland was taken into custody during emigration clearance.
The woman’s daughter who has informed about this in an audio clipping posted in social media has said her mother’s mobile phone was not reachable after she was taken into custody saying there was some problem and emigration clearance was pending.
Latif of Kuwait Karnataka Muslim Association Karnataka Chapter and entrepreneur Mohandas Kamath have contacted the Kuwait embassy on Tuesday when it came to light that the woman was in police custody.
The woman’s daughter has also contacted NRI Forum’s former president Dr Arathi Krishna seeking help.
