Kadaba, June 23, 2018: Six persons travelling in a car sustained injuries when their car was attacked by a wild elephant at Bilinele on the Uppinangady- Subrahmanya State Highway on June 23, Saturday morning. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical.
Girish of Chikkamagaluru along with eight of his family members was on way to Subrahmanya from Dharmasthala in a Maruti Omni when they were confronted with an elephant near the CPCRI at Bilinele. As the car had stopped just near the elephant, the animal had all of a sudden trampled the car. Meanwhile, the loud horn of a bus which was behind terrified the elephant which ran away.
The car was badly mangled in the incident.
