Employees of Antony Waste Management volunteered in the drive.
Erection of Road dividers: Daily more than 50 trains pass through Mahakali Padpu railway line and closure of gate as many times poses major problems to vehicles. This results in traffic jams, and rush during the peak hours. After a pre survey by the volunteers of Swacch Mangaluru after consulting localites, it was decided to erect road dividers by drilling about 20 iron rods on the road. Sri Dilraj Alva, Sri Sandeep Kodikal, Shubhoday Alva, Sujith Pratap, Akshith Attavara and other local volunteers actively participated in the drive. Awareness programme will be undertaken to enlighten the localites and regular commuters about traffic rules in this region. Cleanliness of bus shelter: The bus shelter near Jeppinamogaru highway was thoroughly cleaned. Sri Mukesh Alva, Sri Anand Adyar and several other volunteers removed illegal posters put up on the bus shelter walls and cleaned it. Bus shelter was given a face lift by re-painting.
Daily awareness: Since last 3 months’ volunteers of Swacch Mangaluru are visiting hundred households/shops every day. In the month of January about 20 teams of volunteers undertook awareness campaigning by visiting door to door distributing handbills. Sri Umanath Kotekar coordinated the drive.
