Wedding cars allowed on bundh day – Padmanabha Kottari

Mangalore, May 29, 2012: Padmanabha Kottari, president of the district unit of the BJP, said that wedding cars will be allowed on the roads on May 31 if “wedding car” stickers are pasted on them.


kottari 1The Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP) and its allies have called for a nationwide bundh on May 31 against the hike in petrol prices. Since May 31 is an auspicious day, several weddings have been fixed for May 31 in halls all over the district. Kottari had called a press meet on May 28, Monday to inform the public that they must stick “wedding car” stickers on their vehicles so that the organizers of the bundh can easily identify them and allow them to pass without stopping them.

Stating that the sudden hike of petrol prices to Rs. 7.50 per litre has been a shock for the general public, he said that union government has falsely blamed the depreciation of the rupee in the international market.

He also said that a committee, under the leadership of the BJP, has requested the CM to decrease cess imposed by the state government on petrol and the government will announce its decision about it soon.
