Mangaluru, Feb 16, 2015:  Volunteers of the National Service Scheme and  local people cleaned up the surroundings of Hampankatta and Mangaluru Central Railway Station on Feb 15.   It was the third consecutive Sunday in which the volunteers took part in the Ramakrishna Mission’s series of 40-week cleanliness drive of the city started from February 1. The cleaning was carried out for about four hours in the forenoon.

Swachh-Bharat.An official at the health section of the Mangaluru City Corporation said that damaged inter-lock tiles near the railway station on a road connecting the station with the Nehru Maidan,  was replaced at the cost of the Ramakrishna Mutt. Compound walls on both the sides of the road were painted after removing the posters. Roads were swept and garbage from roadside was clearedd.  Ganesh Karnik, MLC, launched the drive as part of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
