Mangaluru, Feb 4, 2015 : A new organisation of Bunts named International Bunts Welfare Trust (R) will be inaugurated by Dr N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University at a function to be held at TMA Pai International Convention Centre here on February 7, Saturday at 9 am.
This was informed to reporters at Hotel Kudla on February 4, Wednesday by Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of the Trust. He said the Trust has been formed to strive for the overall development of the Bunt community but also all other communities.
He said the web portal of the new Trust will be launched by Erya Lakshminarayana Alva, veteran writer at the function. Shetty also informed that the Trust would strive for the empowerment of Bunt women and encourage the Bunt youth in various fields including social, political, religious and cultural. It will also work towards the welfare of senior citizens and the differently-abled, he said.
Shetty further stated that a ‘Nudi Namana’ will be offered to veteran Kannada activist and centenarian Nadoja Kayyara Kinhanna Rai. A ‘Bunta Siri Kala Vaibhava 2015,’ a variety cultural event showcasing Bunt culture and traditions will also be held from 9 am to 9.30 pm on February 7, Shetty informed.
Kadri Navaneeth Shety informed that Mr and Miss Bunt contest, Bhale Jodi and Namma Yajamanru contests too will be held apart from a musical nite by the renowned Gurukiran.
The invitation of Bunta Siri Kala Vaibhava was released on the occasion.
Several Bunt leaders including Shashidhar Shetty, Chittaranjan Shetty, Bhasker Shetty Kukkuvalli, Ramachandra Shetty and others were present at the press meet.
