Villagers of Kuthethur protest against Pun Llyod’s labour shed

Mangalore, October 20: The villagers of Kuthethoor have complained that Pun Llyod Construction company has illegally constructed labour sheds in 6 acres of land without obtaining any permission from concerned authority.
The company has acquired land on lease from the villagers for temporary dwelling for their staff and construction workers. They have constructed labour sheds and toilets with no drainage facility or waste disposal arrangements. The company employees have been staying here for sometime now.
The waste and toilet water have been drained to open pits and overflowing in the surrounding area making it difficult for the people to live in the village. The authorities have not taken any action in spite of lodging many complains.
Punj Lloyd Group is a diversified global conglomerate providing Engineering & Construction services in Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Petrochemicals. The company has undertaken construction works for MRPL / Sez in Kuthethur village.
