Uppinangady : Distraught over son’s suicide, mother follows suit

Uppinangady, Dec 16,2016 :  In a tragic incident an elderly woman who was greatly agonised over the untimely death of her son who committed suicide,  has also   ended her life at Bollavu in Periyadka of Uppinangady on December 15, Thursday.

The deceased is  Sesamma. Her son Ramachandra alias Ramesh (38) who  had  consumed poison in an attempt to end life  on Wednesday had died the same night at a hospital in Puttur. Sesamma had then in her complaint had alleged that  frequent quarrels between Ramachandra and his wife was    the reason behind his suicide. The next morning she was found by her daughter-in-law in a critical state as she had   reportedly consumed poison and died before she could be rushed to the hospital.

The last rites of the mother and son were performed   together  on Thursday.

The deceased Ramachandra was a mason while his wife Vasanth was a volunteer with a rural development organisation. It is said both quarrelled frequently over job related issues.
