Uppinangady: 2 die, 8 injured as car rams against tree

Puttur, Nov 28, 2015: Two persons lost their lives while eight others were injured, one of them seriously when the car in which they were travelling rammed against a tree alongside the National Highway at Ichlampady Cross near Periyashanti in Uppinangady on November 27 night.
The deceased are Varija and Suresh. Both are said to be residents of Kodangai near Vittal. The mishap occurred when as many as ten people from Kodangai were returning from Sakleshpur after attending a house warming function.
The condition of one of the injured namely Pradeep is said to be critical. The names of some of the other injured persons are Santosh, Kalyani and Shubhalatha.
A case has been registered by Uppinangady police.
