Mangalore, Sep 29, 2011: Unity Health Complex launch free heart check up camp for defence personnel and senior citizens from today till Oct 10 as part of World Heart Day program.
Mangalore City Police Commissioner, Seemanth Kumar Singh inaugurated the free heart check up camp in the presence of eminent personalities and doctors today at Unity Health complex. In his inaugural address, he said that the hospital has done a great job organizing a free heart check up camp for army and defence personnel because they sacrifice a lot for the country. The police officers hardly get the time to think about their health as they are too busy all day and night. He said that even if a person appears fit, he/she must take frequent checks ups.
Presiding over the inaugural function, Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd. Chairman and Medical director, Dr. C. P. Habeeb Rahman said that the free camp is being organized for people who have sacrificed a lot in their lives for the country.
Chief cardiologist Dr. Paul Varghese spoke of the significance of World Heart Day. Devraj, the administrative coordinator, delivered the welcome address and Prof. G. Chitra, the principal of the Unity Academy of Education, proposed the vote of thanks.
Mr. Ajmal M. Habeeb, Managing Director, Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd. and other directors were present on the occasion.
