Mangaluru: June 21, 2015: An alleged close aide of Underworld Don Ravi Poojary was arrested by the CCB police team Mangaluru with live ammunition on Saturday, June 20.
The police arrested Vishal C Uchil(27), from Nalapad Residency apartment near Pumpwell.
The police found out that Vishal was passing landline and mobile number of Business man and Builders in the city to Don Ravi Poojary for extortion.
He was also in touch with Pratap Shetty who is an accused in the murder of Advocate Naushad in Mangaluru.
Acting on the information that he was near Ashoknagar, police went there and arrested him with live ammunition. Police also seized four mobile phones and five bullets.
He has been handed over to Urwa police station for further investigation.
The raid was undertaken by police commissioner S Murugan, and led by inspector Valentine D’Souza.
