Ullal: 3 fishermen who tried to escape from cops attacked in mid sea at Mogaveerapatna

Mangaluru, Nov 15, 2015:  Tension prevailed in Mogaveerapatna area of Ullal for some time on November 14, Saturday when three persons who had  plunged into the sea in a bid to escape  from the police who had asked them to come for enquiry, were assaulted by another group which was in a boat in mid sea.

The police who were investigating into a case pertaining to assault on a youth identified as Iqbal of Ullalbail  reported on November 13,  Friday,  had arrived at the Mogaveerapatna beach and had asked five fishermen  sitting there to come to the station for enquiry.

However, the five tried to escape by plunging into the waters. Soon after  another group which was on a boat confronted them about 100 nautical miles off the coast and attacked them with oars. Later the five were  brought to the shore while the attackers escaped. It has been gathered that  the accused who had attacked the fishermen in mid sea were from Kudroli and had arrived at Mogaveerapatna to commit some crime.
