Belthangady, Feb 19, 2018: A man from Ujjire who was working in a hotel in Oman is missing and his family are seeking help from the government to find him.
The missing person has been identified as Hussein (53), a resident of Kashibettu near Ujjire. Hussein moved to Oman 10 years ago and was working as a cook in a hotel in Oman. Hussein has wife and two sons aged nine and eleven.
According to the sources, Hussein is missing since 6 pm of January 26. Hussein used to call his family everyday in the afternoon. He called home on the afternoon of January 26 as usual. But after that date, Hussein hasn’t called home. When the family members tried to reach his phone, it is switched off since then. They tried contacting his friends who told that Hussein is missing from the company’s accommodation from the evening of January 26.
Worried family went ahead and informed Oman Social Forum and Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) about missing Hussein. Even the KCF couldn’t trace Hussein in Oman and hence they complained about Hussein’s missing to the Indian Embassy in Oman.
Hussein’s relatives are now pleading to notify the central government about missing Hussein and seek their help to finding him and sending him back to India.
