Belthangady, Dec 05, 2018: An incident wherein the Ujire Gram Panchayat Vice President  Vinutha Rajath Gowda, attacked an RTI activist named Balasubrahmanya Bhat (41) by splashing boiling  water over him has been reported on December 4, Tuesday.


RTIThe incident took place  in front of the residence of the GP Vice President at Malebettu in Ujire village.

The RTI activist had  lodged a complaint regarding irregularities in a housing scheme after securing relevant documents through RTI. It is said the incident took place when an investigation was underway in the presence of officials including Belthangady Taluk Panchayat  Executive Officer Kusumadhar.

Balasubrahmanya Bhat who has sustained injures has been admitted to Belthangady Government Hospital.
