Udupi, April 23, 2016 : As many as 9,451 applications have been cleared under the Atalji Janasnehi services upto March 2016 in Udupi district thus helping the district attain the top position.
This was informed by Deputy Commissioner R Vishal during the presentation of the annual report of the Revenue Department at his office at Rajathadri in Manipal on April 22, Friday.
Last year nearly 3,269 files have been cleared with regard to problems in various departments, he added.
A total of 24,575 files have been cleared during the period between April 2015 to March 31, 2016, he said.
The DC also informed that sufficient funds are available to tackle any eventuality during monsoons in the district. At the same time he clarified that there was no dearth of funds to solve water woes in the district.
Regarding the sand issue, he said nearly 4,03,000 metric tonnes of sand was available in the district and added sand would be made available to needy people of the district on a priority basis.
He said 20 out of the 23 sand mining blocks would be available for sand mining from April 23, Saturday.
