Udupi native arrested for human trafficking of girls

Udupi, Nov 16, 2018: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a Udupi native for allegedly keeping in confinement around 15 girls illegally at a house in RR Nagar in Bengaluru  city.

arrested_Praveen Shetty, 38, presently residing at 10th Cross, Papareddypalya, Nagarabavi is the arrested person.

Acting on credible information, the CCB police raided the house and rescued 15 girls of North India origin.

According to reports, Praveen had promised good job placement for these girls while bringing them to the city but later forced them to work at bars against their wishes.

A case has been registered in this connection and the police are conducting a probe to find out if other people are involved in this racket.
