Udupi, Feb 04, 2017: Reports indicate that Udupi Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuradha said good and meaningful films can deliver thoughtful messages with entertainment to the society.
Inaugurating a week-long film festival organised by the District Information Department, she said films that offer moral lessons should be encouraged by the viewers. The films are the means of education. The films with messages should be produced in large numbers for effective communication. The government is promoting Kannada movies, she added.
Diana theatre proprietor Sulakshana Pai, manager Sugandhar and Alankar theatre manager Jagadeesh Kudva were present. District Information Officer Rohini welcomed the gathering.
The film fest will screen national and state award winning films for children at Udupi theatres till Friday at 10 am. The entry is free.
