Udupi cops ask public to send traffic violation photos through WhatsApp

Udupi, July 22, 2016:  The Udupi police have decided to opt a novel way to detect traffic violation cases and also to initiate action against violators.


AnnamalaiAs part of the new measure, police have asked public to send photographs of traffic violations along with the vehicle registration number to WhatsApp No. 9480805400 in order to facilitate police to initiate action against the erring drivers.

A press communiqué from Udupi District Superintendent of Police Annamalai K  said the measure has been taken in the wake of the department receiving several complaints of traffic violations many of which were even resulting in accidents.
