Sanjay’s pencil tip Ganesha is 2mm in height, 1.55mm in width, and 1mm thick. The image is smaller than the earlier Ganesha image that made its way into the book of records. The old image is 5mm in height and 0.5mm in width. Sanjay is the first person from Udupi to have his name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Sanjay says that he decided that he would carve a Ganesha image on the tip of a pencil in October and took nearly one day to do this at first. He practiced long and hard till he mastered the art of carving Ganesha on a pencil tip.

Sanjay has a penchant for carving miniature Ganeshas on vegetables, fruits, and chalk pieces. He has now embarked on a project of carving 21 miniature Ganeshas in various postures and says that his work will be placed on display at an exhibition, which is scheduled to be held in Bangalore and will have 25,000 Ganesha images on display.
