Udupi, Feb 04, 2020:  A woman ASI was assaulted and attacked in the women’s police station in town on Monday.

ASI Muktha Bai had returned on Monday after a brief vacation. She was surprised when a woman, who identified herself as Usha Naik, slapped her on the face and started attacking the official in front of other visitors.

Muktha Bai questioned Usha’s behaviour but, in turn, the latter turned more violent.

The ASI has lodged a complaint alleging that the accused has obstructed the officer on duty. The accused has disturbed the officer against discharging her duties, she said in her complaint.
