Udupi, April 24, 2016 : A T10 tennis ball cricket tournament named Udupi Premier League T10 2016 slated to be Asia’s biggest event of this kind, will be held at MGM Grounds from April 26 to May 1 under the auspices of Udupi Cricket. This one of its kind cricket tourney will be inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi and Chairman of Udupi Premier League.
This was informed to reporters here by Santosh Padubidri, Joint Secretary of UPL-2016. He said a procession would be taken out from the city bus stand to the programme venue on the inaugural day on April 26 and added that the tournament will be organised at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore.
The inaugural function will be graced by a number of dignitaries including Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister for Youth Services and Fisheries, Vinay Kumar Sorake, State Urban Development and Udupi district in-charge Minister, Shyam Bhat, BDA Commissioner, R Vishal, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Annamalai, Udupi District Superintendent of Police and others.
Mohammed Sadiq, President, Udupi Cricket Club, Ranjitha Shet, actress and others were present at the press meet.
