Udupi: Missing man from Barkur found dead in well; suicide suspected

Udupi, Aug 01, 2015:  Thirty two year old Naveen Ganiga who was reported missing on July 29 has been found dead in a well at Barkur on August 1, Saturday.

The deceased who was the son of Gowramma Ganiga and Anand couple of Moodukeri in Barkur was said to be an alcoholic. Naveen who worked as a supervisor in a private firm was recently even  provided treated for  his alcoholic addiction.  It is said he went missing a few days after he was discharged from the Baliga Hospital where he was admitted for treatment.

Though he went missing on July 29, his family had not filed a missing complaint. On Saturday the body found inside a well in a private property was identified as that of Naveen.

The suspicion is that he might have committed suicide. Meanwhile, his family sources said he had  attempted suicide once earlier too.

A case has been registered by Brahmavar Police.
