Udupi, Jan 27, 2017: A leopard which was on the prowl in Pernankila and its vicinity since the past few days was ultimately trapped on January 27 morning and subsequently released in the forest.
The Forest Department personnel had placed the cage in front of a house at Gundupade in order to trap the wild animal which had literally created panic in the area.
Villagers had earlier said that they had spotted two leopards in the area. The operation was led by Forest Officer Ganapathi Naik.
