Udupi Krishik Sangha to organise farmers’ convention

Udupi, Feb 09, 2015:  In a release to the press, the Udupi Zilla Krishik Sangha said it will organise a one-day farmers’ convention at the Sharada Mantapa here on February 14.  Bantakal Ramakrishna Sharma, president of the Sangha, said that a farmers from different parts of the district are expected to take part.

 

The matters to be discussed at the seminar will include: “Need for mechanization in agriculture,” “Use of technology in horticulture,” “Marketing of agricultural products and their value addition,” “Techniques to control pests and check diseases,” Protection of various rice varieties,” “Negative aspects of K. Kasturirangan Panel’s Report on Conservation of Western Ghats” and “Challenges in dairy farming.”  This seminar is expected to bring to the fore the needs of farmers in the region.
