Udupi : Fishing boat capsizes near Malpe ; 1 dead, 9 swim ashore safely

Udupi, July 19,2016 : A fishermen lost his life while nine others swam ashore to safety after their fishing boat capsized nearly two kms off the coast of Badanidiyoor near Malpe on July 19, Tuesday morning.

Fishing boat The deceased person has been identified as Annayya (50).

Adverse weather condition is learnt to be the reason behind the mishap.

A case has been registered by Malpe Police.

Lucky escape of the nine fishermen who swam to the shore. Fishing operation itself is very risky. We bargain at the rates for the fishes s in the market. They risk their life for the sake of earning their living.
