The children  namely Nagaraj and Meghashree,  both studying in seventh standard had on Sunday walked out of their home fed up with their father Hanumantha’s  torture. It is learnt, Hanumantha  a tipper driver used to often beat his children with a belt.

Sources said  the siblings had just Rs 10 with them while leaving the house. With the help of the amount, they had boarded a bus to Udupi and arrived at Shree Krishna Mutt to have food. But to their disappointment no food was served in the Mutt on Monday as it was Ekadashi. Later, a security guard named Mahesh who spotted the kids who were wandering even when it was raining, on hearing their story, took them to his house and offered them food and accommodation.

The media and police were later informed and  the children were taken to the station when they refused to go with their parents Hanumantha and Lalitha.

The authorities are yet to decide as to where the children could be lodged if they are firm that they would not go with their parents.
