Udupi, June 29, 2020: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr G Jagadeesh accompanied by Education Department officials visited the SSLC examination centre at Hejamady on June 29, Monday and boosted the morale of the students. It may be recalled here that a girl student who had appeared for the two earlier examinations in this centre, had tested positive for Covid-19 soon after her father had tested positive.
The Deputy Commissioner who spoke to the students said the district administration as well as the Education Department is with the students and asked them not to panic. He also expressed happiness over the fact that all students had appeared for the exams today undeterred by the fact that one of their classmates has tested positive.
The DC later said the condition of the infected student is stable and that she is studying in the hospital. He said a distance of six feet is maintained in the examination centre in place of the usual three feet distance.
Hejamady GP Chief Vishalakshi Putan, GP Vice President Sudhaker Karkera, Education Officer Sheshashayana Karinja and others were present.
