Udupi, JAn 06, 2021: A person wanted in connection with as many as nine chain snatching cases has been arrested by the police. The arrested person is Chandrashekhar (25), a resident of Mangaladevi in Mangaluru. He was arrested at Kukkikatte Junction in Udupi on January 3, informed Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan.
Speaking to media persons, he said the police have recovered 172.02 grams of stolen gold and three bikes, all valued at around Rs 9,38,200. The accused who had completed a nursing course was jobless, the SP said adding he had stolen a bike from a showroom dealing with second hand bikes at Kankanady in Mangaluru after taking it for a test ride.
He was wanted in chain snatching cases in Udupi, Manipal, Padubidri, Kadri and Mulki. All the three bikes recovered from him were stolen ones.
