Udupi, Nov 18, 2015 : Udupi DC Dr. R. Vishal Nov 18 said that he had cleared 11,804 files in the last one year from November 5, 2014 to November 4, 2015. DC Dr. Vishal said that these included 8,300 paperless office files, 2,399 other department files and 1,105 court cases. The average number of files cleared per day excluding holidays in the last year stood at 43.
As regards the court cases in the Deputy Commissioner’s Court, there was a backlog of 605 cases in November 2014.
An additional 735 cases got included to it, taking the total to 1,340 cases. Of these 1,340 cases, 1,105 cases had been disposed, while 235 cases were pending. The rate of clearance of cases stood at 84.97 per cent.
There were faster disposal of files in most segments of the Revenue Department in the district, he claimed. As far as disposal of files at the Atalji Janasnehi Kendras was concerned, the district topped the State.
The file disposal was 50 per cent faster than the average time taken at other places in the rest of the State. “There is still scope for improvement as far Atalji Janasnehi Kendras are concerned,” he said.
As for cases of Bhoomi land mutation disposal were concerned, the number of mutations received from November 2013 to October 2014 was 1,10,736. Of 1,10,736 mutation applications, 60,288 (54.44 per cent) were disposed.
The administration had acquired 87.15 acres of land for the Varahi Irrigation Project and given a compensation of Rs. 16.19 crore to 10 land-losers. The administration had acquired a total of 75.2 acres of land in 44 villages for widening of National Highway 66 from Kundapur to Hejmady and given a compensation of 21.06 crore, Dr. Vishal said. Charulata Somal, Assistant Commissioner, K. Chennabasappa, Additional Deputy Commissioner, were present.
