Udupi: 10K BPL cards issued Udupi constituency

Udupi, Sep 10, 2015:  Speaking after giving away the benefits of various development schemes to the respective beneficiaries, the MLA Pramod Madhwaraj  stated that Rs 1.5 crore was being spent in the constituency to facilitate 21,000 beneficiaries under various social security schemes initiated by the government.  Ten thousand families were given BPL cards in Udupi constituency after the Congress party came to power in the State.

Applications received under the housing schemes are disposed off and measures are taken to enable the release of funds immediately. He directed the officials to not delay the benefits but attend to applications in time. He added that, henceforth, he would distribute the benefits, and assured that the public could approach him for the problems they faced.

More than a 100 beneficiaries received various benefits under the development schemes, including Sandhya Suraksha Yojane (63), Old age pension (6), Destitute and Widows Pension Scheme (23), Physically handicapped (4), Manasvini (4), BPL cards (6) and cheques under calamity relief funds (3).
