Kasargod, April 21, 2014: An ancient stone edict inscribed in Tulu script has been found in Aranthodu in Kidar near Kumble in Kasargod. The inscription was spotted in the field belonging to Narayana Shetty of the locality. The three fourth of the inscription was buried in the land.

Special Village Officer, Kodlamogaru and writer Shankara Kunjattur said that the Tulu script on the inscription is clear and readable. The place where the inscription has been spotted is only three kilometers away from Herur, where a Tulu inscription may have links with the nearby traditional house of Bambrana Guthu, which is in deplorable condition.

Localite and Uppala Special Village Officer Shivram Shetty, Narayana Shetty, Ramachandra Bengere and Sharath have helped in the discovery of the inscription.
