Tulu drama Oriyardori Asal to hit silver screen

Mangalore, Feb 17: “The Tulu drama Oriyardori Asal is the first DTS Tulu film to hit the silver screen and will be directed with the same title,” said renowned Tulu playwright Vijay Kumar Kodialbail during the film’s muhurat shot, which was held at Shri Bhagavathi Temple, Kodialbail, on Feb 17, Wednesday. The playwright also appreciated Anaji Nagaraj, the producer of the film, for his love of Tulu language, culture, and people and for giving an opportunity to create this film. 

 

 

 

Sandalwood music director V Manohar, who has his origins in DK, sounded the clapperboard in the presence of Gurkiran. 

After inaugurating the event, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the Tulu play “Oriyardori Asal” forms a very important part of the history of Tulu theatre. He brought attention to the fact that no Kannada play has become as popular as Tulu plays have, adding that the Tulu theatre directors have successfully created talented artistes. 

Sri Esha Vittaladassa Swamiji of Kemaru Mutt blessed the occasion and spoke about the necessity of disseminating social messages via films. He encouraged the people of Tulunad to identify themselves as “Tuluver” instead of saying that they were Hindus, Muslims, or Christians. 

Shivadwaj, the award winning Tulu film director, was felicitated on this occasion. 

Tulu theatre actor, Naveen D Padil Aravind Bolar, Rajesh Bantwal and Suresh Mangalore, Actor Kasargod Chinna, Chairman of Coastal Development Authority Nagaraj Shetty, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozerio, Former Chairman of Mangalore Development Authority Abdul Razak, Corporator of Kodialbail Naveen Chandra, Music Director A K Vijay Kokila and many others were present for the programme.
